A very important principle when it comes to interpreting Scripture is to always emphasize the clear passages of Scripture over the more difficult to understand passages. There are times when passages seem to contradict each other, however, if you start with those passages that are consistently through Scripture and clear to understand they will often help to explain those that seem to be in contradiction.
