God is Faithful to His Children
Have you ever wondered how God is faithful during our tough times? Whether it be tsunamis, earthquakes, huricanes, assassinations, or war, many people tend to doubt God’s faithfulness during difficult experiences. However, the Bible promises that God will faithfully love His children throughout all times. It can be hard to understand when one is in the midst of suffering; however, God will uphold His children throughout the course of their time on earth.
God is Faithful Text
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him! (Matthew 7:7-11, ESV).
Four Ways God is Faithful
Faithful Character
God is faithful because that is His character:
- “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind (Numbers 23:19, ESV).
- “By no means! Let God be true though every one were a liar, as it is written, “That you may be justified in your words, and prevail when you are judged.” (Romans 3:4, ESV).
- “For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations (Psalm 100:5, ESV).
Since God does not change and will stay faithful to His character, He will not change His love towards His Children that He sent the Son to die for.
Faithful Sovereignty
One of the characteristics of God is that He is sovereign:
- “The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble” (Proverbs 16:4, ESV).
- “Our God is in the heavens; He does all that he pleases” (Psalm 115:3, ESV).
- “Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love.” (Ephesians 1:4, ESV).
Since God is in control, He governs the affairs of His children. All good and calamity is done according to His perfect will for their good. God will never give His children terrible things to torture them or keep them from doing His will. He gives all good things to His children, even temporary suffering for their good.
Faithful Holiness
God’s Holiness is one way God proves He is faithful:
- “For I am the Lord who brought you up out of the land of Egypt to be your God. You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.” (Leviticus 11:45, ESV).
- “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23, ESV).
- But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:22-23, ESV).
Since God is Holy, God is perfect, sinless, and other than this world. God will not behave like fallen, sinful, worldly men. Therefore, God will act according to His Holy Character.
Faithful Righteousness
God is faithful in His righteousness toward His Children:
- “For the Lord is righteous; he loves righteous deeds; the upright shall behold his face” (Psalm 11:7, ESV).
- “Shall not the Judge of all the earth do what is just?” (Genesis 18:25b, ESV).
- “To you, O Lord, belongs righteousness, but to us open shame, as at this day, to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, those who are near and those who are far away, in all the lands to which you have driven them, because of the treachery that they have committed against you (Daniel 9:7, ESV).
God is faithful in righteousness. God will never do what is evil or torturous to His children. While His children will suffer persecution, be tormented by this world, and die, the Lord will not let these things ultimately harm His children. It would go against His righteous character. He will honor the sacrifice of His Son.
Faithful Conclusion
Since God’s character is on the line in being faithful to His children, what are some ways that we can see this today?
Faithfulness in Preservation
First, God will preserve His children through persecution. No matter the suffering, whether it be loss of job, beatings, imprisonment, or death, God will be there for His children and be their surety in suffering. This world seeks to silence and kill believers because of their faith in Jesus. They can’t get to Jesus anymore, so they hunt His followers. This is precisely why the Left killed Charlie Kirk. They didn’t like that he pointed to God for the answer to every political and cultural question. He faithfully taught that God made male and female. All other genders are mental illnesses invented by Satan. When a homosexual sniper took him out, Charlie did not die, but was taken straight into the arms of his Savior. God also used Charlie’s faithfulness to bring many to Christ.
Faithfulness in Provision
Second, God will provide for His children’s needs to carry out His will in their earthly lives. God promises to give His children wisdom to make wise judgments if they pray and seek His will in His Word. Also, God promises to provide peace to His children when they give Him all their anxieties in prayer. Likewise, God has promised to provide for His children good works that He prepares beforehand. God will help the believer throughout all of their earthly life to do His will.

The Gospel
Are you morally perfect? How many lies have you told in your life? Plenty? That makes you a liar. Have you ever stolen anything regardless of its value? That makes you a thief. The reality is God sees our hatred as murder, lust as adultery, lies as an attack on His character, and dishonoring your parents as insulting Him. You stand guilty before a holy God. There is nothing you can do to save yourself. That is a terrible thing because of the reality of Hell.
Since we can’t get to heaven because of our lack of goodness, we need to be accredited with goodness from someone else. This is where Jesus comes in. He is fully God and fully man; one person with two natures. Here is the Gospel put in a nutshell.
God loved us so much that Jesus died in our place, taking the punishment for the sins of all who would repent and trust in Him. He paid for the sins of believers in full. There is no more wrath for God to pour out on believers. Jesus paid it all.
God calls all people everywhere to repent and trust in Jesus (Acts 17). What do these terms mean? It means that all people must turn from sin to God. People who repent acknowledge their sin, mourn over sin, desire to submit to God, and hunger to be made right with God. That is repentance. Faith is trusting in Jesus’ person and work on the cross to save you from sin.
